About Lighting
Lighting is the first thing you turn on in the morning, and the last thing you turn off at night – no one pays any attention to lighting until you have a burnt out light or problems with your lights or ballasts.
Businesses
Every business needs about 25 to 30 different types of light bulbs. Next time you walk into a store, any store, look around at the different types of application that have light. Think if a large department store for example: you first pull in the parking lot and there are probably 20 – 30 poles that all have lights and transformers. You then walk into the store and you see 4′ to 8′ fluorescent in the ceiling, these all have ballasts in each section. The freezers, produce section, heating lamps in the deli, all isles have various lights… all these display lights over all sections of the store, the register areas, the stock rooms, restrooms, vending machines – these all have a lighting fixtures, ballasts, and or wall-packs.
Homes
Next time you walk into your home, count the number of light bulbs you have – count all the light fixtures in your rooms, look at your stove, refrigerator, under your cabinets, your bathroom, out door lights, front yard, back yard, etc…
